Educational achievement and getting a college education is very important for Millennials. But traditional approaches to teaching may not address the learning preferences of this generation. Students can be engaged and motivated to learn by providing authentic learning experiences: games, simulations, collaborative learning. Teachers need to keep up with the new technologies and incorporate them into teaching. So, when lectures are used, they should have in mind multimedia presentations and initiate discussions with the audience.
The trend toward Millennials using IPods and laptops reflects their preference toward a more portable learning environment. Millennials are comfortable with the e-learning and many enjoy the ease and convenience of being able to learn on their own schedule.
